The renegade Republican lawmaker presented the longshot resolution against Hegseth on the floor of the House, potentially forcing a vote within days.

Massie said Hegseth abused his powers by deploying the U.S. military in the war against Iran without seeking congressional approval under the War Powers Act. He said these are “unlawful orders” and “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
While the House under control by Republicans is not expected to approve the resolution, it would put lawmakers on record over Hegseth’s leadership and the now seven-month war.
