The first teaser trailer for Heated Rivalry heartthrob Hudson Williams‘ new Crave series has dropped.

The Victoria-shot series, a modern spin on the Baba Yaga folk tale, will officially land on the Canadian streaming service sometime in October. However, it will be part of TIFF’s Primetime programming. TIFF runs Sept. 10-20. It’s schedule will be released later in August.

The new Yaga teaser trailer debuted on July 25 during a panel at San Diego’s Comic-con.

In-person Yaga panel guests were Moss, Reid, and Backo, along with showrunner Kat Sandler, whose play Yaga is the original source material for this new show. Williams was unable to attend but sent a video message that was played for the crowd.

Made up of eight half episodes, Yaga marks Heated Rivalry breakout Williams’ first major project since the queer hockey romance drama, another Crave original, became an international hit late in 2025. Season two of Heated Rivalry is scheduled to begin filming in Toronto in August.

Set in a small coastal town the creepy thriller is a contemporary reimagining of the myth of the Slavic folk tale of the Baba Yaga witch.

According to the synopsis from AMC, which will also air the series “follows Rapp (Noah Reid), a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams). Rapp finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo); a charismatic university professor, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss) and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives and ancient magic.”
