It just might be time to get the parade route ready in Milwaukee.
The Tampa Bay Rays were one strike away from escaping the top of the fifth inning in Game 3, down just two runs. And then Brice Turang scorched a ball 106 mph at shortstop Taylor Walls, and a nasty one-hopper ticked off his glove and opened the floodgates.

Turang’s two-out, two-strike, two-run single off lefty reliever Cam Booser drove in a pair of runs, the second of a stunning seven two-out hits. Just grab a bat: Garrett Mitchell, RBI single. Cooper Pratt and Sal Frelick, RBI doubles.
David Hamilton, RBI single. Jackson Chourio, his second hit of the inning: An RBI double.
When it was over, eight runs had crossed the plate – all with two outs – and Milwaukee held a 10-0 lead in the middle of the fifth inning. Armed with a 2-0 World Series lead and with lefty Robert Gasser cruising, a championship never looked so likely.
It was the first time in World Series history a team had seven two-out hits and scored eight two-out runs in an inning.

Milwaukee chased former teammate Freddy Peralta with a single, walk and then an infield single from William Contreras on a replay reversal at second base. Third baseman Junior Caminero fielded Contreras’ grounder in the hole, spun and fired toward second. Probably not the best decision: Christian Yelich beat the throw to the bag, thanks to replay review.
