The Artemis II astronauts fielded a few questions Thursday in a press briefing at Johnson Space Center.

Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Canada’s Jeremy Hansen each spoke of what the journey around the moon meant for them, and how it made them feel about their place in the cosmos.

“We were all kind of struck by these things that make us feel small, and that the sense I had was the sense of of fragility and feeling small and infinitesimally small. But yet this very powerful feeling as a human being, like as a group,” said Hansen.
Glover described himself as still processing some of his feelings about the journey, and that he would take his time in doing so.
“I’m trying very hard, but, but, you know, I think it’s, what I’ve come to realize is we did what we said we were going to do. And now we’ve got to step out and and just face that reality. And so that’s a great thing. But I’ll I’ll figure it out tomorrow. Courtney started this by saying the crew is ready. I’m really not. But but I will be next week,” Glover said.
During Artemis II’s nearly 10-day mission, the astronauts voyaged deeper into space than the moon explorers of decades past and captured views of the lunar far side never witnessed before by human eyes.
