It is simply a matter of how much. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes Golden State is prepared to give Curry whatever he wants.
“It’s not whether or not Steve is going to sign. It’s what’s on the plate. Just to give you guys some insight when you’re over the age of 38 in the NBA you can only sign for a maximum of three years. This is an old rule from the ’90s. And it’s used to be over 36, but when Chris Paul and LeBron James were running the players association, they were getting close to their late 30’s they pushed it to 38. Curry makes $62 million this year, so he can add 2 years onto it. Or he can do a 1 year max or just wait. The warriors are putting the decision in Steph’s hands. There is no negotiation,” Windhorst said.
Another aspect of Curry’s situation is more concerning. There have been reports that his knee injury from last season is still lingering.
“There’s at least some lingering concern about the knee. From what I’ve been told, it can be managed, but it has to be managed and that’s a new thing for Steph because people always say he is the most conditioned guy in the League and now he has to manage a knee. I guess we’ll find out, but from what I understand, he and his trainers have devised ways to kind of work around that and sort of support that whole possibility of the knee not being as great as he wants it to be. So, I’m curious to see how it turns out, but Steph seemed pretty confident that he’ll be able to go out there and put out 70+ games,” NBC Sports’ Monte Poole said.

However, Curry has seemingly put all of the noise behind him. In a season where the Warriors are not expected to make the playoffs, a crazy video of Curry making 82 straight three-pointers was released.
