There was talk of Alex Pereira becoming the greatest UFC fighter of all time with a victory over Ciryl Gane, giving “Poatan” his third title in as many weight classes. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, Gane proved to be the superior fighter in the UFC White House co-main event, smashing Pereira in the second round to recapture the interim heavyweight strap.
Former two-division champion Jon Jones, who disposed of Gane with relative ease during their UFC 285 title fight back in early 2023, wasted no time in reacting to the “Freedom 250” bout, congratulating “Bon Gamin” while flaunting his GOAT necklace on Instagram.

“Congratulations to the new heavyweight champion Gane,” Jones wrote. “You looked great out there tonight.”
Jones signed his tweet with a goat emoji.
Jones, 38, chose retirement over a heavyweight title defense opposite Tom Aspinall, then begged to come back after UFC announced its White House card.
Gane, 36, is expected to rematch Aspinall at the end of the year, having previously fought to a “No Contest” following a fight-ending eye poke in their UFC 321 main event last fall in Abu Dhabi.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who like Jones holds a victory over Gane, had his own reaction to the UFC White House co-main event.

“Congratulations Bon Gamin for the wonderful performance,” Ngannou wrote. “Sincerely, LHC.”
LHC = Lineal Heavyweight Champion.
Ngannou, 39, is clinging to that designation after walking away from UFC following a contract dispute in early 2023, missing out on potential fights against Aspinall and Jones. “The Predator” is currently a free agent after getting released from PFL earlier this year.
