A Vancouver Island hotel has been named to Travel + Leisure magazine’s 100 Best New Hotels of the Year list.

Rosemead House, located at 429 Lampson St., in Victoria., opened in 2025 with an 118-year-old manor near the city’s downtown area revamped into a unique, 29-room boutique accommodation.

“We see ourselves as custodians of the property, but it is our team who brings it to life each day,” Uwe Walter, general manager, said in a news release. “We create experiences that feel elevated without ever feeling overstated. That level of care is what defines a stay here.”

The richly decorated hotel was furnished using pieces found at more than 200 estate auctions throughout the U.K. that hotel owner Lenny Moy, a real estate developer and design enthusiast behind the Vancouver-based company Aragon Properties, procured.

“Rosemead House was never intended to follow convention,” says Moy. “It’s a place where history, craftsmanship, and imagination intersect. Every room tells a story, and that sense of discovery is what we wanted guests to experience from the moment they arrive.”

The Vancouver Island hotel, which also features a restaurant and spa, joins just two other properties in Canada on the list: The Kendrick Hotel in Banff and Huttopia Les Deux Lacs – Laurentides in Mont-Blanc, QC. The list was selected from nearly 250 hotel properties in 40 countries.

To assemble the 100-best list, the publication’s writers and editors reportedly reviewed properties that opened or underwent “significant renovations” between February 2025 and 2026.
