So, it makes sense that there’s some great vegan doughnuts in the mix, too.

Timed for National Doughnut Day (June 5), PETA has released its list of Canada’s 10 best vegan doughnut options. And the Vancouver outpost Lucky’s Doughnuts has made the list.

“All the doughnut shops on PETA’s list are on a roll, serving delicious sweets that leave animals in peace — and leave doughnut lovers smiling,” said PETA Founder Ingrid Newkirk in a news release. “From vanilla pistachio to mango chocolate, Lucky’s Doughnuts delivers fabulous flavour without a crumb of cruelty to chickens or cows.”

With several outposts throughout the city, including 2902 Main Street and 689 Thurlow St., Lucky’s Doughnuts offers a selection of vegan and non-vegan treats.

The Vancouver favourite was joined on the list by nine other animal product-free doughnut options from across the country. The list includes:
