After logging two decades at Lush Cosmetics, the Vancouver-based entrepreneur has stepped out on her own to create a new line of plant-focused skin care products called Plantd, which she co-founded with fellow Lush alum Shaune Bowers.

Q: For those who aren’t familiar, what is Plantd?

    Article content

A: Plantd is a Vancouver-based, plant powered, skin care company that formulates and produces products locally using organic, fair trade and regenerative ingredients. Every formula starts with an ingredient chosen for a reason, sourced from people we know by name and packaged with reuse in mind.

Our Facial Care Collection launched in fall 2026 with five products formulated with regeneratively grown jojoba, wild Pacific kelp and red seaweed. Impact is built into the brand from the start, including giving back to help restore the ecosystems our ingredients come from, like the coastal kelp forests that inspire and support our facial care line.

    Q: What makes it unique?

    Article content

A: One of the things that make us unique is our founding team. The co-founders both bring decades of experience in the skin-care industry and that deep knowledge has guided the creation of the long-term vision for the brand of growing a culture where self-care, community well-being and nature collectively thrive.

You see that show up in formulations that are genuinely kind to skin and to the earth, a supply chain that centres growers and producers, and a business model with impact built in from the beginning, not added on afterwards.

Formulating well, to us, means listening to the history and traditional use of an ingredient first, then confirming its value with today’s tools and research. That approach helps us create products that are thoughtful, effective and connected to the people and ecosystems they come from.

Q: Who is the target customer?

    Article content

A: Our target customer is defined more by mindset than anything else. They’re educated, values-led and thoughtful about what they put on their skin. They want products they can trust, they care about clean ingredients and Canadian-made options, but they also expect their skin care to perform.

    Article content

Plantd customers don’t want to choose between efficacy and values. They want high-performing skin care from a brand whose sourcing, production and impact align with what matters to them.

Q: Is there a ‘hero’ product?

    Article content

A: Out of the gates, the Lipid Rich Cleansing Balm has emerged as the hero product in our Facial Care Collection. It’s a balm-to-milk cleanser that melts away makeup, SPF and daily buildup without stripping the skin, and it can also be used as a nourishing five-minute mask. Customers have responded especially well to the texture, light scent, performance, and how soft and comfortable it leaves the skin.

    Article content

Q: What is the price range?

    Article content

A: Plantd body care is available from $14.95 and our facial care collection ranges from $54.95 to $59.95.

    Article content

Q: And where can people learn more?

    Article content

A: Check out our website, Instagram and YouTube to learn more and shop at plantdskincare.com.
