Following the Federal High Court ruling sacking Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the 2027 Imo West Senatorial District election, netizens have dug up an old video of former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
DAILY POST reports that the Federal High Court on Thursday sacked Uzodinma as the APC candidate and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to replace the incumbent governor’s name with that of Okorocha.
The court held that Okorocha was the rightful winner of the APC primary election conducted in May 2026.
The development has generated reactions across social media, with some Nigerians linking the ruling to the alleged influence of powerful government officials.
Following the ruling, social media users, particularly on X and Facebook, dug up a video clip capturing moments when Wike and Okorocha were celebrating together.
The video has sparked discussions about the relationship between Okorocha and the former Rivers State governor.
Recall that Wike and Uzodinma recently fell out following the latter’s disapproval of the Rainbow Coalition.
