UCLA slugger Megan Grant and Nebraska two-way star Jordy Frahm earned top honors in the USA TODAY Sports Network All-American softball team.
Grant soared past the NCAA single-season record for home runs, entering the Women’s College World Series with 40 homers — three more than the previous record set by Arizona’s Laura Espinoza in 1995. The senior outfielder is hitting .469 with 87 runs batted in for the Bruins.

Frahm — who won two NCAA titles with the OU softball program before transferring to her home-state Cornhuskers three years ago — went 20-4 with 12 saves, a 1.14 earned run average and 234 strikeouts as a pitcher. As a hitter, she posted a .416 batting average with 19 homers and 50 RBIs.
Alabama’s Patrick Murphy is the Coach of the Year after leading the Crimson Tide to the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide enters the WCWS with a 54-7 record as it chases its second national championship.
Oklahoma catcher Kendall Wells, who was voted Freshman of the Year, set a school and national freshman record for most home runs in a single season. She hit .358 with 39 home runs and 88 RBIs for the Sooners, who were upset by Mississippi State in the Norman Super Regional.
Joining Frahm, Grant and Wells as unanimous selections are UCLA first baseman Jordan Woolery and Florida State shortstop Isa Torres.
