Abus Magomedov got the most impressive win of his octagon tenure at UFC Fight Night 280 and left Michal Oleksiejczuk unconscious on the canvas.
A perfectly timed counter elbow from Magomedov (29-7-1 MMA, 5-3 UFC) stunned Oleksiejczuk (22-10 MMA, 10-8 UFC), and from there the fight-finishing instincts kicked in. He pounced with more strikes then immediately snatched the neck for a guillotine choke and squeezed until his foe was out cold for the technical submission finish at the 3:25 mark of Round 1.

After suffering a loss in his previous outing, Magomedov bounced back in a big way to snap the three-fight winning streak of Oleksiejczuk. Now, he wants to test former champion Israel Adesanya next.
“It was one of our game plans to catch him coming in – it works,” Magomedov said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “I knew he was a tough guy. When I get his neck, I knew he was going to tap or go out.
“I hope Mick (Maynard) is going to give me that fight, I want to fight with Israel Adesanya. We are almost at the same level. Hopefully I can get that fight after this performance.”
