A UCLA basketball legend might have to play some defense to keep her brother from suiting up for the Bruins’ crosstown rival.
Lauren Betts, the Washington Mystics center who captured myriad awards en route to two Final Fours and a national championship for the Bruins women’s basketball team, took to social media after her brother, Dylan Betts, posted about his latest offer.
Dylan Betts is a five-star recruit, just like Lauren Betts was, and he took to social media to share that he’s “blessed to receive an offer from” the USC Trojans.

It took less than an hour for Lauren Betts to make her disdain known.
“No,” she wrote. “Absolutely not.”
Lauren Betts not only helped bring the Bruins their first NCAA title in women’s basketball, but she and her teammates did so in dominant fashion.
In the NCAA Tournament, they won all their games but one by double digits, a 51-44 win over the Texas Longhorns in the Final Four.
In the championship, the Bruins dominated the South Carolina Gamecocks 79-51.
But that’s nothing compared to what Betts and Co. did to the Trojans, who were no slouches this season.
The regular season finale, a 73-50 Bruin win at USC’s Galen Center, was relatively merciful.

The true destruction came at Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 3.
The Bruins nearly doubled up the Trojans, 80-43. In that game, Betts led all scorers with 18 points and all rebounders with 12 boards.
Impressive as that is, there’s no telling what would’ve happened if Betts thought her younger brother might end up at USC.
Fortunately for her, the 7-foot-3 Dylan Betts has plenty of other suitors, including Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Florida State and, of course, UCLA.
We’ll have to wait and see if the Class of 2028 prospect follows his sister to Westwood.
