Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has edged past Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé to claim the UEFA Champions League record for most goals scored by a teenager, after netting in his side’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old punished a Villa error in the seventh minute at Spotify Camp Nou, curling the ball beyond Zion Suzuki for his 14th goal in the competition.
Mbappé, who has 72 Champions League goals overall, had previously held the teenage mark with 13.
Yamal has reached 14 in only 37 appearances and has already set several other Champions League records.
The Spain international is still the youngest player to start a match in the competition proper, having been 16 years and 83 days old when he made his full European debut against FC Porto.
Last week, Yamal placed third in the 2026 Ballon d’Or behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Mbappé.
Yamal has begun the new season strongly, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists across 15 appearances in all competitions.
