Former Barcelona striker, Gary Lineker, has said that the club, alongside Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, are the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
Lineker believes that the final this season would be between Barcelona and Arsenal and sees the LaLiga giants beating the Premier League champions to the trophy.
He said that Hansi Flick’s side are due to win the Champions League.
Barcelona got their Champions League campaign off to an excellent start as they sealed a 5-1 win at home to Feyenoord on Wednesday night.
Arsenal, meanwhile, saw off Napoli in a 1-0 victory thanks to Martin Odegaard’s late goal.
Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten on penalties by Paris Saint-Germain in last season’s Champions League final and Lineker feels the Premier League champions will go close again this term.
Gary Lineker said on The Rest Is Football,
“Those two teams [Barcelona and PSG] probably have to be favourites along with maybe Arsenal, but Barcelona are looking a bit tasty at present.
“I fancy Barcelona this season, I think they’re due.
“I’ve got a feeling that PSG are not going to win it this season and I think that it will be between Barcelona and Arsenal.”
