Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested 12 suspected illicit drug peddlers during a joint raid of Damagun Market in Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out at about 2:00pm on Sunday, August 23, by troops of the 233 Battalion Quick Reaction Force alongside personnel of the NDLEA Potiskum Area Command.
The joint team reportedly moved into the market following intelligence on suspected illicit drug activities.
Makama said 12 suspects were arrested and assorted illicit drugs recovered during the operation.
“The suspects and recovered exhibits were handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and necessary legal action,” he said.
