Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and local vigilantes, have foiled an attempted terrorist infiltration of a military base in Zamfara State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in his post on X on Thursday, said security sources stated that the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Forward Operating Base, FOB, Bukuyum in Bukuyum Local Government Area of the state.
According to Makama, “The sources said the troops, working alongside the other security agencies and local vigilantes, engaged the suspected terrorists during the attempted infiltration.”
He explained that the engagement reportedly forced the attackers to flee in disarray.
He, however, said one soldier sustained injuries during the encounter and was evacuated to the 1 Brigade Medical Centre for medical attention.
He explained that the troops have continued to maintain security in the area to prevent further attempts by terrorist elements to infiltrate military positions.
