Officials are reminding drivers that Metro Vancouver’s new stal̕əw̓ asəm (Riverview) Bridge will be closed to traffic this weekend for construction work.

The bridge closed at 9 p.m. Friday and will remain shut until Monday at about 5 a.m.

The temporary shutdown is so crews can complete paving works on the bridge deck, according to the Transportation Ministry.

Bridge users are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges during the weekend closure.

The N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges.
