Tinubu: 5 ex-govs in Adamawa not supporting you – Shettima slams ADC’s Atiku

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday disclosed that five former governors from Adamawa State, including the current governor, Umaru Finitiri, are not supporting the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Shettima disclosed that the five former governors of Adamawa State were fully in support of President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking during the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign in Ekiti State, Shettima wondered why Nigerians would vote for Atiku when he is not relevant in his state.

According to Shettima: “If somebody wants to give you a cloth to wear, look at the one that he is wearing; let’s analyze Adamawa State for instance.

“With all due respect to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, since the advent of the democratic dispensation, we have had about five different governors in Adamawa State, and not a single one of them is standing with him.

“Is Murtala Nyako with Atiku? No. Is the current governor, Umaru Finitiri, with Atiku? No; is Shaibu Barka with Atiku? The answer is no. Is Bala Ngilari with the former vice president? No; Is Bindow Jibrilla with former Vice President Atiku? No.

“All these five former governors of Adamawa State are within the fold of the APC and are supporting Tinubu. If you can’t control your own state, if you are not relevant in your own state, how can you tell others to elect you? Voting is about grassroots politics.”
