The Ohio State Buckeyes struggled to get Jeremiah Smith involved in the game against the Oregon Ducks. In the third quarter, Smith’s frustration boiled over and he was seen yelling at the sideline after catching a pass.
Smith had been limited to just four catches through three quarters in the eventual 41-28 loss.
Fans reacted to Smith’s frustration, with several showing support for the receiver.

“Don’t blame him. His coaches lost him the Heisman,” one fan wrote.
“The Heisman is slipping away and he knows it,” one fan commented.
“This kid clearly has character issues. He should at least drop to the 2nd or 3rd pick of the draft,” one fan added.
“Deep down Jeremiah gotta be wishing he took whatever money Miami was offering him to transfer this summer,” one fan noted.
“Shoulda came to Miami. Welp,” one fan reacted.
For the second consecutive game, Ohio State started freshman quarterback Luke Fahey in place of the injured Julian Sayin. Despite completing 36 of 50 passes for 360 yards, Fahey struggled to establish a connection with Jeremiah Smith.

Smith had previously acknowledged that building chemistry with Fahey would take time after starting quarterback Sayin suffered an injury against Indiana on October 17.
“A lot of practice, a lot of reps. We got to get together,” Smith told reporters (via Eleven. Warriors. “Especially since we got a bye this week. We got time. About two weeks until we play a game. So it’s going to take time to build that. I ain’t going to say it’s going to take one day. It’s not that easy.”
Smith ended the game with seven receptions for 133 yards and one touchdown.
