Guerlain L’Heure Bleue
Article content
They say: A new fragrance release from Guerlain inspired by the blue hour — the time just before sunrise and right after sunset — that revisits the olfactory emotion that inspired Jacques Guerlain’s iconic L’Heure Bleue from 1912. The main notes of the new iteration include an ozonic accord (designed to be like a ‘fresh breath of air’), iris, orange blossom and vanilla. Three years’ worth of work reportedly went into the creation of this perfume and, more specifically, the iris tincture that is a main component of it.

We say: This fragrance is distinctly Guerlain. Those who know the French fragrance and beauty house’s creations will likely agree. The scent is floral but warm, crisp, but also subtly powdery. The contrasts are in keeping with the goal of of perfumer Delphine Jelk who said, “As a woman, I wanted to express felinity accurately, as I see it: a blend of tenderness and strength.” It’s a modern take on a memorable elixir that’s sure to find many fans.

Love Ur Curls Curl Defining Lotion
Article content
They say: From the Canadian haircare brand Love Ur Curls, this Curl Defining Lotion is an everyday styling product that helps to hydrate and tame curls by providing natural definition and softness.
Article content
We say: Our tester, who has very curly hair, applied this lotion to her damp curls. Applied in sections, she worked the product through her strands, defining curls with her fingers to help keep their shape. When dry, her curls were defined and less frizzy, but were soft and not sticky or crunchy.
