Three B.C. restaurants have been named to the coveted North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2026.

Vancouver restaurant Published on Main came in at No. 17 this year, up from No. 28 in 2025. Two other local restaurants also made the list: At No. 35, AnaLena; and Wild Blue in Whistler following at No. 47.

The list was announced at an awards ceremony in New Orleans on May 28. This year’s top three spots in the awards went to Chicago’s Smyth followed by Calgary’s Eight and Restaurant Pearl Morrissette in Lincoln, Ont., at No. 3.

The awards, now in its second year, are collated from the votes of 300 anonymous experts. According to a statement, the voting panel — North America’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy — is a “mix of chefs, restaurateurs, food/restaurant journalists, and gourmets, led by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs.”

Published on Main’s chef-partner Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson said it was an honour to be among the restaurants recognized for a second year in a row.

“This recognition puts us in such great company, and it belongs to our incredible team, who pour their energy and passion into every single service because they love what they do,” said Stieffenhofer-Brandson. “Accolades like this keeps us going. But most importantly of all, thank you to our guests for continuing to believe in us and enjoy meals at our table. That is something we will never take for granted.”

First opened in 2019, Published on Main is located at 3593 Main St. and serves up dishes designed to be a “reflection of British Columbia’s landscape.”

Located at 1809 W 1st Ave. in Kits, AnnaLena opened in 2015 and focusses on offering multi-course tasting menus under the direction of Chef Mike Robbins.

In Whistler at 4005 Whistler Way, Wild Blue is celebrated for it seafood-forward, locally-inspired cuisine.
