Watch: How Matthew Rhys, Sally Field, Jean Smart & More Made Emmys History
Ever the, uh, diplomat, Matthew Rhys made a declaration after he nabbed his first Emmy back in 2018.
Though he was thrilled to notch a victory for his turn as one-half of a set of married spies on FX’s The Americans he wished he wasn’t celebrating alone.
“I just feel bad,” he said on a May episode of Obsessed: The Podcast, noting that Keri Russell, his partner onscreen and IRL, left the ceremony empty handed. “Not to take away anything from Claire Foy from The Crown because she was incredible in that. I just wish Keri got it because she was so incredible.”
So, he went underground with his prize.
“It’s in the basement,” he revealed to CNN after the 2026 ceremony Sept. 14, “because I kind of said, when Keri wins one, I’ll take mine out.”
It’s the sort of sweet gesture that serves as one of the not-so-top-secret tenets of their decade-plus romance.
But now that he’s added to his haul with an additional three trophies, winning both for his turn in the Netflix limited series The Beast in Me and Widow’s Bay and scoring even more hardware as a producer when the spooky Apple TV+ show won for Outstanding Comedy Series, he joked, “It’s stupid.”
Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph, meanwhile, likes to let her statue shine.
“My Emmy loves to roam the house,” she revealed to Architectural Digest of the prize she brought home from the 2022 contest. “Sometimes I find her in my office sitting on top of the champagne cooler. A reminder that every day is a celebration.”
That was certainly Rhea Seehorn‘s stance when she picked out the ideal place to park the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series trophy she won for her work on Pluribus.
“She’s going in my partially converted garage that’s an office and a painting studio,” the actress revealed to E! News in an exclusive backstage interview, “and one of my favorite places to be.”
