Netflix is staying in the soccer game with more The Rest is Football throughout the next Premier League season.
The streamer greenlit its first daily sports show and has been airing the Gary Lineker podcast as a vodcast every day during the just-finished World Cup, which ended last night with Spain victorious.

More from Deadline
This morning, the streamer committed to The Rest is Football for a full Premier League season starting from next month, airing two eps per week, one on Monday and one Friday.
Former Match of the Day host Lineker fronts The Rest is Football with former soccer stars Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, with regular guests including, recently, Gordon Ramsay. The popular soccer analysis pod is in the same stable as The Rest is Politics, The Rest is History and others, all produced by Lineker’s indie Goalhanger.
The Rest is Football aired during the World Cup from a glitzy studio in Time Square, which Lineker joked before the tournament was just one of the benefits of moving from the BBC, which aired its coverage from Salford in the UK. Lineker exited the BBC under a cloud last year after sharing an Instagram video that contained an antisemitic trope.

While not a ratings smash, The Rest is Football performed well, appearing in the top 10 of the UK chart every day of its run and peaking top. Its top-rated episode currently sits 40th on Netflix’s most-watched in the UK of the past seven days, viewed by around 170,000 people, placing it behind the BBC’s Football Daily podcast.
Netflix has been leaning in to the sports game recently and just released a tranche of sports docs including on Jose Mourinho, Tyson Fury and Jamie Vardy.
