No. 7 national seed Tennessee (42-10) will host the NCAA Knoxville Regional of the NCAA Tournament at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium May 15-17.
The Lady Vols will open tournament play against Northern Kentucky (26-23) Friday at 5:30 p.m. EDT. The Norse won the Horizon League Tournament championship and come to Knoxville with a 10-game win streak. SEC Network will televise the contest. The Knoxville Regional will be contested in a double-elimination format.

In Friday’s other first-round game, Indiana (42-14) will play Virginia (38-17) at 8 p.m. EDT. The Hoosiers received an at-large bid from the Big Ten, while the Cavaliers qualified from the ACC. The contest between Indiana and Virginia will be televised by ESPN2.
Super regionals will take place May 21-24. The winner of the Knoxville Regional will play the winner of the Athens Regional, hosted by No. 10 seed Georgia (38-18). The Bulldogs will host College of Charleston, UNC Greensboro and Clemson.
The Lady Vols are making their 22nd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. Tennessee will also host a regional for the 21st straight season. The Women’s College World Series begins May 28 at Devon Field in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
