2027 shortstop prospect Dylan Seward committed to Tennessee on Oct. 10, 2025.
The infielder is from Norco High School in Norco, California. He is a switch hitter and throws right-handed.
Following the MLB draft that concluded Sunday, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com released a way-too-early mock draft for 2027.

He projects Seward to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2027 MLB draft to Kansas City.
“Seward is a dynamic switch-hitting shortstop committed to Tennessee,” Mayo said. “He’s a double-plus runner with outstanding bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate. He has more than enough range and instincts to play short for a long time. He might be only 5-foot-11, but there’s plenty of impact to come.”
The 2027 MLB draft will be held at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois during all-star week festivities.
Tennessee had six players selected in the 2026 MLB draft and are listed below.
