Taylor Swift can thank her fountain pen, quill pen and glitter pen for their contribution to this honor.
After all, the “Fortnight” singer was announced as the youngest songwriter to be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. And it’s an honor the 36-year-old does not take lightly.
“From the time I started writing songs as a child, I fixated on Nashville as the perfect place to be,” Swift said in a statement to People. “I wanted to learn with and from the best and get to immerse myself in a community of storytellers, and thankfully Nashville turned out to be exactly what I’d dreamed of.”
She added that Nashville was “a town that validated and prioritized hard work, determination and imagination.”
“Where the writers show up to work every day even when the mysterious muses and the magic don’t,” Swift continued. “To be honored by this city I love so much is a beautiful thing, and I’m very grateful.”
Swift and her fellow honorees, including country legend LyleLovett, will be formally inducted during the 56th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala later this year.
The honor marks Swift’s second induction this year as she was became the youngest person inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City in June.

“It was easy to choose songwriting over everything else in my life,” she explained during her speech. “But it couldn’t have been easy for my parents and my brother to just pick up and move our entire family from Pennsylvania to relocate to Nashville, so that I could hone my craft. in the songwriting capital of the world.”
Swift became visibly emotional as she reflected on her family’s sacrifice, adding through tears, “Even though words are supposed to kind of be my thing, I will never be able to express my gratitude to you guys for doing that for me. You’re the reason I’m here tonight.”
