Watch: Tia Mowry Details Babysitting Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen have a passport to Manhattan.
The Row co-founders made a rare appearance on April 30, when they were seen walking around Midtown Manhattan before meeting with a friend for lunch.
The 39-year-olds kept it casual for the outing, with Mary-Kate donning a long black coat, black pants, a white scarf and sunglasses. Ashley, meanwhile, opted for blue jeans and a mid-length black coat, completing her look with a black scarf and round sunglasses.
Since retiring from acting in 2012, the Full House alums have kept their focus on their fashion brand and were even recognized with the American Accessory Designer of the Year award at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards in November.
And the honor meant a lot to Mary-Kate and Ashley, who established The Row in 2005.
“To our individual buyers, you have been our guiding light for the past 20 years now,” Mary-Kate shared while accepting the award. “To our amazing customers who truly give us the opportunity to do what we love, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
She also thanked the duo’s loved ones—which included Ashley’s husband LouisEisner and their 3-year-old son Otto—adding that without their support they “would not be here today.”
“Thank you for giving us the love and kindness,” Mary-Katesaid, “that allows us to show up to work each day.”
And while the actresses have found success in fashion, it wasn’t exactly what they expected would happen after their career in Hollywood.

“I don’t know how conscious we were of what we were doing at that time, to be really honest,” Ashley explained to I-D in 2021. “We had just moved to New York. We were 18 years old and I think what we did know was that we wanted to take that time to take a break from what we were previously doing and to explore things that interested us, and explore what life has to offer.”
The two also wanted to make sure that the Row could function without Mary-Kate or Ashley as the face of the brand.
“We didn’t want to be in front of it,” Ashley said, “we didn’t necessarily even want to let people know it was us.”
“It was really about the product,” she added, “to the point where we were like, ‘Who could we get to front this so that we don’t have to?’”
