The Syracuse Orange (1-2. 0-2) are back in action as they head to East Hartford to face the UConn Huskies (2-2). Kickoff for this one is Noon tomorrow on CBS Sports Network with Jack Gordon, Taylor McHargue and Jaclyn DeAugustino on the call.
Here are our predictions:

Kevin: Syracuse 37, UConn 23
I think Kalief Osborne will challenge the Syracuse defense’s ability to contain quarterback runs as we saw the Orange struggle when Mason Heintschel left the pocket at Pitt. However, the Huskies pass defense has been shredded by opponents and with some time off, Syracuse should finally get their big plays going. Can the Orange avoid costly penalties? If so, I think this is a game they can win comfortably and restore a bit of hope for the rest of the season.
Max: Syracuse 35, UConn 21
UConn is a struggling team right now, but so is Syracuse. However, I think the Orange can get back on track in this one and improve to a 2-2 record. Calvin Russell making his debut could be an x-factor and the amount of rest the team has had and the time to rethink how to run the team, this should be a feel good win. Barring penalties of course.

Mike: Syracuse 31, UConn 17
These are not Jim Mora’s Huskies from the past season. While not exactly a “bad” team, they were outclassed by a Maryland squad who was demolished in its Big Ten opener and also beaten by Miami OH last weekend. It may start a bit sketchy depending on how Steve Angeli looks, but with Fran Brown suddenly under pressure, either his QB1 will perform as advertised or Amari Odom will have his opportunity to.
Dom: Syracuse 27, UConn 17
The post-bye week game will always bring some uncertainty, and that’s especially the case for Syracuse’s offense. UConn’s defense is pretty weak, but can the Orange keep the defense off the field enough, connect on the big plays, and capitalize? I think they do in moments, and that ultimately is good enough. Mike put it best: this isn’t the Mora Huskies, but this won’t be a cakewalk, either.
