Surrey police are asking the public to help locate a man wanted for assault.

On the morning of April 3, police were called about a woman being assaulted and suffering minor injuries in the 17600-block 58A Avenue.

The following day, one charge of assault with a weapon was approved against Jason Donald Whyte, 54. He is now wanted on a B.C.-wide arrest warrant.

Police are now releasing Whyte’s photo publicly and asking the public to share any information.
