Watch: Steve Harvey Hugs Lori Harvey’s Ex Michael B. Jordan
Steve Harvey is mourning a heartbreaking loss.
The Family Feud host shared a touching tribute to his father-in-law James Bridges Sr., who died on June 1 at age 91, per ABC 24 Memphis.
“Yesterday we buried one of the best men I’ve ever met, James Bridges Sr., Marjorie’s father,” Steve wrote in a June 5 Instagram post, which featured a photo of his father-in-law smiling. “But to me, Pop Bridges.”
The TV personality went on to express his gratitude toward James for being an “example of faith, fatherhood, and family.”
Steve’s wife Marjorie Harvey thanked her husband for his heartfelt post about her dad, writing, “Thank you my love,” alongside a praised hands emoji.
And the couple—who share Lori, 29, Jason, 31, and Morgan, 41, together, while Steve is also dad to four other kids from previous marriages—are being supported by loved ones following the loss.
“Oh, I’m so sorry to hear this. Such a beautiful man sending our condolences to you and your family,” 21 Jump Street alum Holly Robinson Peete commented on Steve’s post, while Chrisley Knows Best star Todd Chrisley wrote, “God bless you [a]nd your family my friend.”
Meanwhile, Lori is also feeling the emotional impact of losing her grandfather.
“My sweetiepie grandaddy. It’s been a week since you left. The hardest week of my life,” the model wrote in a June 9 Instagram post, in which she shared a carousel of photos of her grandfather over the years. “I miss you every second of every day. I love you I love you I love you. Until we meet again.”
The 29-year-old received love and support from her close friends in the comments section, including Hailey Bieber, Laura Harrier and Janelle Monae.

Along with being remembered fondly by his family, James was honored by his local community in Memphis, Tenn.
In fact, the city named a street intersection after James, with a section of Bullington Avenue between South Parkway East and Taylor Street now being known as “James A. Bridges, Sr. Avenue,” according to ABC 24 Memphis.
And while Steve—who attended the dedication event alongside his wife—has attended similar street naming ceremonies in the past, his late father-in-law was not a celebrity.
As he emphasized, “This is the first time I’ve been to a street naming of a person just cause he was a great man.”
