The Pittsburgh Steelers first round of OTAs are done and before the team gets back together, we have updated our five-round mock draft for the 2027 NFL Draft. The college football season will be here soon and these are guys are names to keep an eye on at positions we expect to be draft priorities.
We thought Jayden Maiava would declare last year but we are glad he stayed. He was a raw decision-maker in 2025 but we expect to see a big jump from him this season. Meanwhile, there are more questions than answers with the Steelers young quarterback tandem of Will Howard and Drew Allar.

The Steelers are talented at safety in terms of starters but lack depth in a big way. McDonald was excellent last season and is one of the best all-around deep safeties in college football.
We expect one of two things to happen. Either one of the top vets, T.J. Watt or Alex Highsmith are traded leaving a void at edge or Nick Herbig leaves in free agency. Either way, the Steelers will need to add another edge rusher in this draft and Saka is the next man up at Texas A&M.
Cornerback doesn’t look like a huge need right now for the Steelers but with free agency coming we couldn’t pass up a player with the amount of upside Jayden Bellamy this late in the draft.

One of our top breakout candidates for the upcoming season is Raylen Wilson. Georgia churns out NFL linebackers and we don’t expect Wilson to last this long by the time the actual draft gets here but for now, we’ll take him to replace Patrick Queen or Malik Harrison.
