According to NFL reporter Mike DeFabo, the Steelers waived cornerback Cory Trice with a “failed physical” designation.
A once promising cornerback prospect, Trice was hit by injury after injury early in his Steelers career, tearing his ACL in 2023 and missing the entirety of his rookie season.

After making his NFL one season later in 2024, Trice showed flashes of greatness, even recording his first interception against the Denver Broncos in Week 2. But he suffered a hamstring injury one week later and would only appear in 6 games that season.
Failing to appear in a single game in 2025, Trice’s release may come as no surprise to some, but it’s a tough pill to swallow for Steelers fans who hoped to see the young cornerback reach his full potential.
