The St. John Paul II High baseball team are heating up on offense.
The No. 5 Lions collected 16 hits as they beat No. 21 Carver 17-4 in the Round of 16 of the MIAA state tournament.
Henry Roy went four innings, scattered two hits, allowed one earned run and struck out seven on the mound for the win. He also went 2-for-4 at the plat with two RBIs.

Brian Mancinelli (one single, one double, one triple, two RBIs) and Sam Scioletti (one double, two RBIs) each had three hits, while Logan Our (three RBIs) and Drew Richards added two hits each. Brandon Gomes, Luke Souza, Nolan Bordun and Domenic Toto each had one hit.
In other high school action:
Div. 3, Round of 16: No. 13 Dracut 3, No. 4 Falmouth 1: The Clippers (15-5) were upset at home in the second round of the playoffs. They beat No. 29 Martha’s Vineyard in the Round of 32.
Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 8 Sandwich 15, No. 9 Abington 0: The Blue Knights (12-11) have outscored their first two playoff opponents 31-1.

Tyler Jones went seven innings and struck out 10 for the win. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs at the plate.
Joe Coughlan was 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI, James Niemiec had three RBIs, and Cotter Bolton finished with two RBIs.
Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 5 Manchester Essex 5, No. 12 Sturgis West 0: The Navigators (10-6) were swept foe the first time this season. They beat No. 21 Frontier Regional in the Round of 32.
Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 4 Amesbury 5, No. 13 Sturgis East 0: The Storm (9-5) snapped a three-match win streak. They beat No. 20 Frontier Regional in the Round of 32.

Div. 3, Round of 16: No. 8 Wilmington 4, No. 9 Falmouth 1: The Clippers (13-5) fell in their second playoff game. Falmouth beat No. 24 Academy of Notre Dame in the Round of 32.
Div. 4, Round of 16: No. 2 Nantucket 17, No. 15 Rockland 1: The Whalers (17-3) have only allowed one goal over their first two games of the postseason.
Div. 3, Round of 16: No. 5 Falmouth 9, No. 12 Tewksbury Memorial 2: Jackson Smith, Finn Oberacker and Grady Cox each scored twice for the Clippers (18-3).
