Skip Bayless has sent a blunt message to the New York Knicks after their 0-2 start to the NBA season, declaring that the Philadelphia 76ers are already well ahead of their Eastern Conference rivals.
The Knicks lost 106-100 to Philadelphia in their season opener before suffering a narrow 107-103 defeat to the Boston Celtics, leaving them searching for their first win.

Meanwhile, the 76ers have made a perfect start, winning both games and showing why their new-look roster is attracting so much attention.
Reacting to New York’s defeat against Boston, Bayless made his feelings clear on X, writing: “Knicks lose at Boston, fall to 0-2. From what I’ve seen so far: SIXERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>KNICKS”
The post comes after Bayless praised Philadelphia following its remarkable comeback against the Cleveland Cavaliers, when the 76ers overturned a 29-point first-half deficit to win 114-106.

The victory came despite a difficult start for LeBron James, who committed five turnovers in the first half of his Philadelphia home debut. Bayless criticised the veteran during the game but acknowledged the team’s quality after the comeback.
Speaking in a video posted on X, he said: “All I know is this is the best team in the East. Knicks, you are officially in trouble. Enjoy, LeBron.”
Tyrese Maxey led the way against Cleveland with 32 points, while Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown also made significant contributions. James finished with 17 points and nine rebounds as Philadelphia completed an impressive turnaround.

Maxey has averaged 30 points across the 76ers’ opening two games, reinforcing the view that he remains central to the team’s offence despite the arrival of established stars.
Philadelphia’s early success has also raised expectations following the additions of James and Brown. The combination of their experience with Maxey’s scoring and Embiid’s presence gives the 76ers plenty of options as they look to establish themselves among the Eastern Conference’s leading contenders.
New York, meanwhile, will be keen to respond after two close defeats. Their opening loss to Philadelphia showed the challenge they face against their rivals, while the narrow result against Boston offered little comfort in the standings.
There is plenty of basketball left to play, but Bayless has already made his position clear. The Knicks need a win soon, while the 76ers have given their rivals an early reason to pay attention.
