SEC predicted order of finish: Who did media vote to win conference in 2026?

SEC media have voted Georgia football to win the conference in 2026, the league announced Friday, July 24.

The Bulldogs received 88 first-place votes, ahead of Texas, which was selected to finish second in the SEC with 57 first-place votes. Don’t fret if you’re not a Georgia fan, though: The media has only predicted the winner of the conference correctly 10 times in the last 34 years.

Georgia returns second-year starting quarterback Gunner Stockton, leading rusher Nate Frazier and top defensive players KJ Bolden, Raylen Wilson and Chris Cole, among others.

Elsewhere, Texas — despite having 31 fewer first-place votes than Georgia — finished mere 61 points behind Georgia in the media voting. A total of eight SEC teams received first-place votes, including, in order: Mississippi (six); Texas A&M (five); Alabama (three); LSU and Oklahoma (two apiece); and Kentucky. The Wildcats, led by first-year coach Will Stein, received a single first-place vote.
