The NFL trade deadline is almost here, and by the time Nov. 10 is over, teams will be set when it comes to trade deals through the remainder of the 2026-27 season.

JP Acosta of CBS Sports has released his tally of trade ideas leading up to the big day, and he shares both “pipe dream” ideas as well as one realistic option for each club.

“The NFL trade deadline is less than a week away, and every team is in position to either put themselves over the top in hopes of a playoff push, or to completely reset their franchise and move on to NFL Draft season,” he says.

For the Seattle Seahawks, he calls their “pipe dream” trade making a move for edge rusher Yaya Diaby of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their realistic one is for wide receiver Josh Downs of the Indianapolis Colts. But he really points to edge rusher as the main focus.

“Very quietly for the Seahawks, their edge depth has been rampaged by injury,” he states. “Edge Uchenna Nwosu missed the Monday night loss to the Bears with an ankle injury, and edge Dante Fowler has been subpar in his time with the Seahawks.”

He continues, “Adding to the edge room might be a bit of a luxury given the state of the offense, but if they could swing for a guy like Diaby from the Bucs, it would round out that room in a big way.”

So, what makes him a good fit? Acosta says that the way Diaby plays with “power and length” fits the typical Mike Macdonald edge. “Swinging a move for Diaby would allow the Seahawks to have a hockey lines situation of pass rushers waiting to make plays, much like their run to the Super Bowl last season,” he adds.

So, it’s a move that seems realistic enough to happen, even though he dubs this a dream trade.
