The men defeated South Africa 15-9 while the women breezed to a 16-1 win over Nigeria in the first of three group games.

The women’s 3×3 basketball team, though, endured a trickier day on court, but ended on a high, picking up their first victory of the Commonwealth Games against Singapore.
The 21-15 win came after a narrow 12-10 loss to Tonga and a 14-9 defeat to England.
