Watch: Sandra Bullock Shares Rare Photos of Kids Louis & Laila—and It’s Practically Magic
Allow Sandra Bullock to spell out her summer for you.
The Practical Magic star shared a rare glimpse into her home life with son Louis, 16, and daughter Laila, 12, posting photos of the family enjoying various outdoor adventures around their Wyoming ranch.
One snapshot posted to Instagram Aug. 18 showed what looked to be Bullock’s two kids taking a sunset walk with their aunt Gesine Bullock-Prado while clad in comfy loungewear. In another image, the children were pictured rafting along a scenic river, though their faces were covered with fish emojis by the Oscar winner.
Bullock, 62, also shared a photo of the family visiting her parents Helga Meyer and John Wilson Bullock‘s graves, as well as a picture of herself standing in a grassy field with pal Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka.
She wrote in the caption, “Friends, family, fun, fishies, furries, aaaand work.”
Indeed, Bullock is gearing up for the September release of Practical Magic 2, her first movie in over four years. And for the actress, it was important that production on the sequel—which also stars Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Joey King and Maisie Williams—did not interfere with her parenting duties.
“I made this film at this time because I knew my kids were out of school,” Bullock explained during an April appearance at the CNBC Changemakers Summit in New York City. “I’m not going to sacrifice my children’s—my time—with my kids.”

“I do not do my best work if my children are struggling or if they need something and I can’t facilitate it,” continued the actress, whose longtime partner Bryan Randall died in 2023 at age 57. “I’m raising my children, not anybody else.”
That’s also why Bullock is keeps her career separate from her life as a mom to maintain her kids’ privacy. As she put it, “I have hidden their faces for so long.”
