Watch: Rosie O’Donnell Asks for Prayers as Daughter Chelsea Faces “Scary Future”
Rosie O’Donnell won’t be two-stepping onto the dance floor any time soon.
The View alum recently reacted to an AI-generated promo of her striking a dance move in a sequined dress that claimed she was soon to make her Dancing With the Stars debut.
“This made me laugh—reminds me to never get a perm,” Rosie captioned the image on Instagram. “Completely untrue but funny.”
So far, no casting announcements have been made for season 35 of the dancing competition series following Robert Irwin and Witney Carson’s win on season 34 last year.
But while she may not be waltzing into the Dancing With the Stars ballroom, the 64-year-old—who moved to Ireland last January due to U.S. politics—recently danced back across the pond to visit her family stateside.
“I was recently home for two weeks, and I did not really tell anyone,” she said during a February appearance on the SiriusXM show Cuomo Mornings, per Entertainment Weekly. “I just went to see my family. I wanted to see how hard it would be for me to get in and out of the country. I wanted to feel what it felt like. I wanted to hold my children again. And I hadn’t been home in over a year.”
Plus, Rosie—mom to kids Parker, 30, Chelsea, 28, Blake, 26, and Vivienne, 23, with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter, as well as Clay, 13, with late ex-wife Michelle Rounds—is gearing up to spend the summer in the U.S. where she and Clay will get to have some quality time with a new family member.
“My son [Blake] is having his first child,” she continued. “So we’re very excited to be home.”
Indeed, Rosie has since announced that Blake and his wife Teresa O’Donnell have welcomed their son Anthony Joel O’Donnell.

“My heart burst open,” the comedian wrote on Instagram March 28. “Congratulations to mama teresa n blake christopher—i love u so.”
And she was able to meet the little one earlier this month.
“Best day ever—met my grandson anthony,” she captioned an April 5 Instagram picture of her holding the baby. “Truly a beautiful child—im so proud of the happy parents teresa and blake.”
Of course, Rosie isn’t the only star who has moved away from the bright lights of Hollywood. Read on for more celebs who have left the City of Stars behind.

Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi have since moved to the Cotswolds, deciding to stay put in November 2024 after Donald Trump‘s reelection, the talk show host told to Richard Bacon in a July 2025 conversation at the Everyman theater in Cheltenham.”It’s absolutely beautiful,” she gushed about the English countryside, per the BBC. “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture—everything you see is charming and it’s just a simpler way of life.”It’s clean,” Ellen continued. “Everything here is just better—the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here. We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.”
