Watch: Romeo Beckham Is Dad David Beckham’s Spitting Image During Met Gala 2026 Debut
No need to wonder where for art thou Romeo Beckham.
Following in his parents’ fashionable footsteps, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham’s son made his Met Gala debut May 4, sporting avery on brand Burberry ensemble for the evening’s “Costume Art” theme. (See all the looks on the Met Gala steps.)
The 23-year-old went for a classic black-on-black jacket and pants, with pops of pizzazz courtesy of leather lapels, a plongé leather shirt, tie and embroidered scarf, plus dozens of carats of De Beers London diamond jewelry.
Romeo is just one of the stars (and kids of stars) to make a grand entrance on the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps. Co-chairs Nicole Kidman (twinning with daughter Sunday Rose) and Venus Williams set the example for the “Fashion is Art” dress code with their early arrivals, as well as of course longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who has hosted the annual gala since 1995.
Their fellow co-chair, Beyoncé, accompanied by Jay Z and Blue Ivy Carter, showed up just a bit later.
Although Romeo is proving he’s taking after his mom’s fashion prowess with his Met Gala look, Victoria and David actually haven’t attended the event since 2014.
Romeo’s outing comes amid a difficult year for his family, which also includes siblings Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, 27, Cruz Beckham, 21, and Harper Beckham, 14.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn addressed his longstanding rift with his family following his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz-Beckham. In a lengthy statement shared to Instagram in January, the photographer alleged his parents have attempted to “ruin” his relationship with his wife.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn wrote at the time, “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
And while Brooklyn’s family remained mum on the subject for many months, his mom Victoria finally broke her silence last month, nodding to the struggle of raising her family in the public eye.
“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” Victoria told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published April 16. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
