Juventus are reportedly considering a swoop for Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the summer of 2027. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 32-year-old has emerged as a concrete target for the Bianconeri, largely thanks to his contractual status at the Etihad Stadium.
Kovacic, who spent two years in Serie A with Inter before joining Real Madrid in 2015, will be out of contract at the end of the season. Given his bit-part status in Enzo Maresca’s system, it’s hard to imagine Man City offering him a new deal, which could open the door for his move to Juventus.

Luciano Spalletti was keen to bolster his midfield options this summer. However, after bringing back Douglas Luiz from a season-long loan spell at Aston Villa, Juventus hesitated to sign a new midfielder. Still, Pape Matar Sarr arrived from Tottenham Hotspur on loan in the final hours of the transfer window.
Nevertheless, Teun Koopmeiners is expected to leave the Allianz Stadium next June, with Kovacic earmarked as a potential replacement. Apart from the Croatian star, Juventus are also interested in RB Leipzig left-back David Raum and Milan center-back Fikayo Tomori, both of whom will be available on a free transfer next summer.
Despite failing to secure regular first-team football at Man City, Kovacic remains one of the most highly rated midfielders in the Premier League. His creativity and composure on the ball would add a new dimension to Spalletti’s engine room, particularly in the event of Khephren Thuram‘s departure.

Kovacic would also bring experience and a much-needed winning mentality to Juventus after several trophy-laden spells at Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Man City. Needless to say, he would be a major coup for the record-time Italian champions.
