Real Madrid have appointed tennis legend Rafael Nadal to the club’s board of directors.
The Los Blancos disclosed this in a statement via their website on Wednesday ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with AEK.
“Rafael Nadal, an honorary member of Real Madrid, is one of the greatest legends in the history of sport, will become part of our Board of Directors,” the statement read in part.
Nadal’s appointment comes after he took to social media earlier this year to deny reports linking him to a possible candidacy for Real Madrid’s presidency as “untrue.”
The 40-year-old retired from professional tennis in 2024.
