In the final years in Oakland, the Raiders were often taking their home games overseas, playing games in London in 2014, 2018, and 2019. But since they moved to Las Vegas in 2020, the league has kept them at home. Next year, that streak figures to end.
The NFL released their international game slate today, and the Raiders were not on it. By the time the release happened, there was only one game they could possibly have been a part of — facing the 49ers in Mexico City — but the Niners’ opponent ended up being the Vikings.
That would have been an away game for the Raiders. And the NFL has a rule that every team must host an international game once every eight years. That eight year mark will be in 2027. And, as it happens, the Raiders have an extra home game in 2027 to be sent overseas. Making it a lock the Raiderrs will be one of the teams hosting an international game.

This season, there are nine games in eight different international locations around the globe. And that number only figures to grow in future as the league ultimately plans to have every team play internationally at least once a season.
For now, at least, the Raiders have somehow managed to stay on the continental United States for the past seven years. Going from being due to make a trip to being required by next year.
