The Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) have failed to maneuver around a demanding October slate and are now below .500 entering Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season. Excitement has naturally subsided, and despite a 3-0 start, the Silver and Black are still trying to make strides. A road loss to the New York Jets (2-5) would turn a wake-up call into an emphatic slap in the face, showing fans just how far this organization still has to go until it is truly on the rise. An active and lethal Brock Bowers can help Vegas end its plunge.

The 2024 All-Pro tight end and two-time Pro Bowl selection was upgraded to a full practice participant on Thursday, per ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. He is now in line to face the Jets in MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Second-year wide receiver Jack Bech is also trending toward playing after logging back-to-back full sessions.
Bowers missed the first two games of the season with a meniscus injury and has been dealing with a calf issue. Health is the only real obstacle in this 6-foot-4 powerhouse’s path. He has 34 receptions for 455 yards and three touchdowns, averaging an outstanding 91.0 yards per game. Kirk Cousins has proven that he can still sling the football at 38 years old, and his passing potency should theoretically remain intact if Bowers is on the field.

New York’s secondary is not to be trifled with, however. The Jets are allowing a stingy 187.7 passing yards per game and could make the Raiders’ aging quarterback uncomfortable in the pocket. Rookie pass-rusher David Bailey is questionable, though. Moreover, No. 89 is a different kind of beast.

Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak would love to increase his snap share back to the 90-percent mark, and so would Brock Bowers fantasy football managers. How Friday’s practice goes could determine the ferocity in which this third-year TE is released on Sunday.
The Jets better be prepared.
