Watch: Why Joe Amabile Is Running NYC Marathon Just 3 Months After Brain Surgery
Phillip Andrew is recovering from a medical emergency.
Nearly two weeks after the Power Rangers alum’s in-person appearances were canceled “for the foreseeable future,” citing the incident, his team gave more insight into his condition, sharing he had to undergo brain surgery.
“Phillip suffered a serious brain injury that required emergency surgery,” Christian Ingram, CEO of Heroic Talent & Appearances, wrote in a statement on Instagram Oct. 27. “We are grateful to share that Phillip is now awake and showing encouraging signs of improvement.”
He added, “While this is a positive step forward, Phillip still has a long road ahead of him. We ask that fans, friends, and colleagues continue to keep him and his loved ones in their thoughts and prayers as he navigates this difficult time.”
While Ingram asked fans to respect Andrew—who also appeared in horror movie The Hazing before his final onscreen role in a 2006 episode of What I Like About You—and his family’s privacy, he emphasized their appreciation for the well wishes he’s received.
“On behalf of Phillip and his family,” he continued, “we sincerely appreciate the overwhelming love, support, and prayers during this incredibly challenging time.”
Following the health update, many of Andrew’s friends and fans showed they were part of his Ranger team, sounding off with words of encouragement for the 48-year-old.

Indeed, his Power Rangers Wild Force costar Jessica Rey reacted to his positive progress, writing in the comments section, “Praise the Lord. Praying daily for you, brother.”
Plus, fellow Power Rangers actress Sasha Craig shared, “Thank you for the update,” and told Andrew to “heal up fast.”
Though Andrew’s time as a Power Ranger lasted just one season in 2022, he has remained connected to his character Merrick Baliton a.k.a. Lunar Wolf Ranger for years after, appearing at expos and conventions celebrating the series.
