The African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the Ekiti State Police Command and the Department of State Services, DSS, of seizing CCTV footage that captured an attack on him in Ado-Ekiti.
In a post on his verified X handle on Friday, Sowore said the security agencies seized the footage from the owner of the restaurant where the attack happened.
He stated that the attackers were captured on camera, but the police and DSS are attempting to suppress the crucial evidence to shield those responsible.
“The Ekiti State Police Command and the DSS have seized the CCTV footage from the owner of the restaurant where we were brutally attacked in Ado-Ekiti.
“The attackers were captured on camera, and we’ve now learnt that the police and DSS are attempting to suppress this crucial evidence to shield those responsible. But we already know them,” Sowore wrote.
According to him, the move was a deliberate attempt to cover up the attack and protect the perpetrators.
