Abia State Police Command says it has deployed its officers at all Computer-Based Test Centres that were approved by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB for the ongoing examinations in Abia State.
The Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa who made this known in a press release the Command made available to Journalists on Thursday, said it was in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The press release which was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka said the officers have been strategically positioned to ensure the safety of candidates, officials and facilities.
“These officers are strategically positioned to maintain law and order, ensure the safety of candidates, officials, and facilities and to also prevent any form of disruption throughout the examination period.
“The Command remains committed to its constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property and maintaining a visible Police presence across the State” the release said.
The Abia State Police Command encouraged the public to report any suspicious persons or activities to officers on duty at the nearest police station or contact the Command’s emergency hotlines.
