The Niger State Police Command has arrested two men for allegedly impersonating soldiers and stealing a vehicle and other valuables in Tungan-Mallam area in the state.
The suspects were identified as 34-year-old Ogbonna David and 30-year-old Chidiebere Okonkwo.
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspects were arrested on September 20, 2026, alongside a Mazda vehicle suspected to have been stolen.
The police said a search of the vehicle uncovered military-related items, including three camouflage uniforms, a pair of military boots, a green beret and passport photographs of a military officer.
