The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has released his handover document to counter claims by the Anambra State Government that his administration left behind loans and other financial liabilities.
The Interim National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, Dr Yinusa Tanko, made the handover document public on Wednesday.
According to the document, which was dated March 17, 2024, it contained a summary of Anambra State’s financial position as of the close of business on that day, indicating a net positive balance of over N86 billion.
DAILY POST reports that the move followed recent statements by Anambra State officials alleging that the current administration was still servicing debts and liabilities inherited from previous governments, including Obi’s.
